Britain's original bean, the fava bean is delicious, nutritious and good for the soil. Our Organic Whole Fava Beans are perfect for spicy Egyptian ful medames, truly British baked beans, stews, curries, salads and more.
Our current crop of whole fava beans were grown on the Moray Firth in Scotland.
Whether they're cooked from dry or used canned, we think these are our best ever whole fava.

Whole dried fava beans retain their skin and require soaking before use, but hold their shape even after prolonged cooking.
Soak overnight, drain and rinse. Place in a pan with plenty of water, bring to boil, cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes until tender. Refreshing the water during cooking will remove more of the natural tannins from the bean skins and give a more subtle flavour.
Cooking times for dried pulses will be longer at higher altitudes and when cooking with hard water or older pulses.
Adding bicarbonate of soda during soaking and/or cooking will soften the pulses and reduce the cooking time.
Cooked pulses can be used immediately or frozen for later use.

We made two batches today one with 100% Flanders flour and the other with 2/3 Flanders to 1/3 White Spelt. We made large rolls (or cobs as we call them) and small loaves. The 100% Flanders was a little more rustic and very tasty. We feel the 2/3 to 1/3 makes a really good all purpose bread. We will be buying more!
Thank you, it was a present for my daughter at christmas. Her husband bought her a dutch oven so she could bake bread for herself as she is unable to tolerate shop bought bread. Shes done the feeding as per the sheet fingers crossed it all goes fine.
Great product! Really tasty! Love the red ones!
I bought this as a Xmas present for my daughter's Vegan boyfriend and he was delighted with it. He opened the box early as he's away for Xmas. The box was nicely wrapped .I loved the fact that these are all British grown. The individual packaging is cool too.
The buttery and nutty flavour of this flour makes the best brioche ever ! There is no need to mix with other flours to achieve a good baked dough structure; using 100% Krivet gives the best flavour. Bury a square of good quality chocolate into each bun for an added treat but also good as plain brioche served with apricot jam.
