Order Packing and Warehouse Team Member - Part Time

We're recruiting a new Team Member to join the small team at our warehouse and offices in Brampton, near Beccles, Suffolk.

The successful candidate will work a 22.5-hour week from 9am to 5pm, Wednesday to Friday, we could possibly offer more hours / days to the right candidate.

A bit about us:

Hodmedod works with British farmers to supply a range of pulses, grains and seeds. We are on a mission to support more diverse agro-ecological farming and to increase the diversity of plant-based foods from British farms. We are proud winners of a BBC Food & Farming Award for Best Food Producer.

In our Brampton office and warehouse we store products in bulk, pack for retail and catering customers, mill flour, blend mixes and pack up and send out orders.

Your role:

You will work as a packing team member to assist our packing, dispatch, milling and blending teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To pick, pack and dispatch retail and trade orders, ensuring they are correct, well presented and protected for transit.
  • To help maintain the organisation of stock in the warehouse; taking in and recording deliveries, collecting and delivering stock to the packing rooms and restocking the shelves.
  • Operating a small packing machine to pack pulses, grains, flakes and flours into a range of pack sizes.
  • Maintaining a clean and well organised work area, maintaining correct storage of stock and disposal of waste is stored in the correct location.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of work areas.
  • Record keeping and reporting relevant to the role.

There is also the potential to be trained to assist with more specialist roles such as milling flour, blending ingredients and seasoning roasted pulses.

Your qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Experience of a similar role would be beneficial, but full training will be provided.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to work to a deadline and prioritise.
  • Accurate record keeping skills.
  • (Desirable) Experience of working in a warehouse or packing facility
  • (Desirable) An interest in food, farming and sustainability.
