Operations Support - Full or Part Time

Hodmedod, Britain’s award-winning pulse and grain pioneers, are recruiting for a new Operations Support role to join the small team in our offices in Brampton, near Beccles, Suffolk.

The successful candidate will initially work a 25-hour week, ideally from 8.45am to 1.45pm, 5 days a week but with some flexibility. There is potential to offer the role as full-time to the right candidate. The role is available for immediate start.

A bit about us:

Hodmedod works with British farmers to supply a range of pulses, grains and seeds. We are on a mission to support more diverse agro-ecological farming and to increase the diversity of plant-based foods from British farms. We are proud winners of a BBC Food & Farming Award for Best Food Producer.

In our Brampton Office and Warehouse we store the products in bulk, pack them into retail and catering packs, mill them into flour, blend them into mixes and pack up and send out orders.

Your role:

You will be responsible for order processing, arranging pallet movements and booking postage, undertaking stock checks and monitoring delayed orders, taking and recording deliveries, purchasing office supplies and packing materials and supporting the operations team including order packing and product packing as required.

Key Responsibilities:

To input, print and sort orders for the warehouse to pack.

To book pallet movements, Royal Mail postage and postage to remote locations.

To deal with customer enquiries from phone calls and emails.

To complete stock checks and be responsible for ordering office and packaging supplies

To take in and record deliveries of packaging materials and office supplies, and to take in and record returns.

To provide support for the operations team, assisting with order packing and product packing where additional help is required.

To follow the code of conduct and safe working practices.

To contribute to team meetings, reporting progress and areas that need attention within your work area.

Record keeping and reporting relevant to the role.

Your qualifications, experience and skills:

Prior experience from a similar admin / support role preferred.

Technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and online cloud-based services.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work without supervision.

Excellent time management skills.

Strong prioritisation and organisation skills.

Strong record keeping skills.

Ability to multitask.

(Desirable) Communication and customer service skills;

(Desirable) Experience of working in a warehouse or packing facility.

(Desirable) An interest in food, farming and sustainability
