Sorry, we've sold out of our first delivery of 2025 season Norfolk walnuts. We'll have more available in mid to late November - sign up for our newsletter to be among the first to hear when they're back. Deliciously buttery walnuts, grown at Red Hat Orchards in West Norfolk and hand harvested, sorted and packed by Mathew Warwick. These carefully dried and graded new 2025 season walnuts will keep well in their nets to the beginning of December but if laid out in a cool, dry place they'll last to Christmas and beyond (if you can resist them for that long). |
The walnut trees at Red Orchards were planted in November 2001 with named walnut varieties from Britain, Europe and North America. Varieties grown include Axel, Lara, Buccaneer and Broadview.
This year's harvest is mainly of Broadview variety nuts but with some nuts of other varieties including a few of the distinctive red "Redhat" nuts bred by Mathew.
The trees and nuts are unsprayed. After gathering they're dried outside in the sun before being hand graded and packed.
Crack and remove shell, eat!
Store in a cool, dry place.

| Can there be a better way to start the day than with this wonderful Rye and Walnut Sourdough Granola? Closely related to wheat and barley, rye is highly nutritious and has a deep, distinctive flavour that works perfectly with walnuts. This is a great recipe for sourdough bakers looking to use up starter discard. |

This has become my go-to winter lunch. Soak for a few hours, slow cook a simple sofrito then chuck in the beans/grains and their soaking broth & season. Cook slowly, maybe with some potatoes, and hey presto! Hot lunch for a week, especially good with some spicy kimchi added. Keeps me warm for pennies.
I am not going to write more than just record that — they are utterly delicious — and have become a much welcomed, convenient and enjoyed addition to our diet.
Very disappointed that they are currently out of stock. We eagerly await their return!!!
I love farro and haven't been able to find it in any local shops so I'm delighted to have found an online source. I've ordered it a couple of times so far and it's worked really well in all the recipes I've tried, so I'll definitely keep ordering it. Thanks, Hodmedod's!
Very nice
Bought on a whim and now waiting frosty weather to have some fun.
