The open-textured Holkham malted sourdough loaf is baked by Johnny Spillings at the Penny Bun Bakehouse in Lowestoft, using strong flour milled from Crusoe wheat grown on the Holkham estate in North Norfolk. Hodmedod's Malted Wheat Flakes give the bread a deliciously malty flavour.
Sourdough loaves keep well (you'll have a good few days to eat your loaf after delivery) and freeze brilliantly.
*Add the loaf to your basket and complete your order as usual. No more than 50 loaves will be baked to order every Wednesday. Orders for Wednesday baking must be received by 8am on the Monday.

This emmer is absolutely delicious, and everyone we've served it to has loved it. We simmer it and combine it with sauteed (in olive oil) diced onion and garlic, chopped parsley, and toasted pistachios. It's good hot or room temperature and the leftovers are equally good. Everyone likes it so much that we keep giving away our bags of emmer to them, so it was great to stock up at the recent pop-up event.
