Wholemeal Tin Loaf, 800g, Sourdough
Hodmedod Bakehouse's large 800g tin loaf...
| Six squares packed with plant diversity: five flaked grains, six seeds, three fruits. Hand baked in the Hodmedod Bakehouse, our chunky squares are like flapjacks but so much more. We combine a blend of grains and seeds with fruit purées, apple molasses and unrefined panela for a delicious fruity caramel flavour with crunch, chew and just a little sharpness. |
Made by baker Henrietta Inman in our Bakehouse, these diverse grain, fruit & seed squares are full of diverse plant fibre for superb flavour, texture and slow-release energy. They’re soft and mellow to the bite with a pleasing crunch from the seeds and the prunes’ sharpness and chew, rounded off by the complex malty and creamy grains and fruit base.

These flapjacks are packed full of goodness and flavour. I love how nourishing they are and I don’t get the usual sugar crash like from other flapjacks. They are so good. So full of different ingredients that they tick the diversity boxes for your diet! Will be ordering again.

I am an impulsive cooker and have rarely soaked any pulses when I fancy them. The naked peas (essentially split peas) solve this problem. The pink ones stayed more whole than yellow split peas, a fact I love. The taste is similar to yellow peas with a hint of red lentil and a texture similar to chick peas. I haven't tried it for houmous yet, but it should work a treat.
Just started a mainly vegan diet and had not realised how many beans you can buy! No idea what to choose so just bought this bundle. Tried a couple of recipes so far from the site and really wonderful. Who knew beans were so versatile and tasty!
Interesting to see these cooking instructions. However, I would like to recommend YQ as a bread flour. After some five years of using various Hodmedod's wheats for my bread, this is one of the very best I have tried - I get loads of compliments from family and friends whenever I bake with this flour.
Just arrived - quickly - but really looking forward to trying them.
I've just cooked them in a rice cooker to accompany a meal. Really tasty and definitely better than brown rice.
