Roasted Peas & Beans - Cracked Black Pepper
We've roasted our British-grown yellow peas...
We've roasted British-grown fava beans in rapeseed oil and seasoned them with a little sea salt to create this moreish snack. Delicious, nutritious and good for the soil and bees, fava beans are Britain's original bean, grown here since the Iron Age. Our roasted beans are full of protein and fibre, and have less than 1/3 the fat of roasted nuts.
Also available as part of our Roasted Pulses Selection.
Our roasted beans and peas are delicious as a savoury snack. They're good sprinkled on salads or soups, or eaten sweet with yoghurt and honey. They work well in recipes in place of nuts too.

We love it so much we are buying it for all our friends and family for Christmas (hope none of them read this review!)
I've been using this as a replacement for gram flour, which isn't organic, and it works well. I've used it in onion bhajis and also to help bind gluten-free pastry - both good.
All the recipes in this book look delicious, and it seems it'll be easy to substitute meat for something else in the non-vegetarian recipes, so it's very versatile too.
Makes nice porridge or overnight oats
Really great to have Hodmedod recipes in book form now, excited to delve into different recipes (starting with a ful medames), lots of exciting things to try and historical nuggets of information!
