The quinoa's subtle but pervasive smokey flavour lends itself well to South & Central American dishes like a mixed bean chilli. Just like our wholegrain quinoa, this smoked quinoa is tasty, nutritious, versatile and easy to cook.
Do not rinse prior to cooking. Cover with 1½ to two parts water or stock for each 1 part quinoa, bring to the boil and then simmer on a very low heat for 15 minutes. The grains will absorb the water and swell to 2 to 3 times their original size. Fluff the grains apart with a fork.

Peter Fairs has been growing quinoa on his farm in Essex for over 20 years but has only identified and selected "sweet" varieties for human consumption in the last few years.

Excellent product. Tastes delicious and grown in Essex.
Really nice. Happy to buy British and it being so good
This has a very enjoyable flavour and as a firm Hodmedod's supporter who chooses to support our farmers, it's a great addition to all sorts of dishes, including my buckwheat bread.
Speedy delivery. All items as expected. Overall I'm happy and why I am a regular shopper with Hotmedod's.
Second purchase bigger pack as it adds the smoked flavor adds a new dimension

I used these to make humous for the first time. I swear it tastes almost exactly the same as when made with chickpeas and so much nicer than shop bought. Very smooth and takes on the garlic and lemon flavours beautifully. Will use for dips again in the future.
Extremely tasty rye flour with a sweet malty taste. Mixed half and half with white spelt flour, it gives a loaf with great depth of flavour and nice, springy texture. Makes great toast.
This my first time cooking with dried fava and what a revelation! I love fresh broad beans because/despite them often being a little bitter, but there's not a trace of bitterness in these delicious Scottish fava beans. I've used some for soup, some for a hummus-type dip and some just straight in a salad. They've become my new addiction, they're so beautifully sweet and tasty.
Like chickpeas, these are perfect added to a salad bowl. Just wash them in a colander first to lose the thick liquid that you'd otherwise want to keep for a soup or stew.
What a great book!
So many recipes I want to try out...especially the ones using Carlin peas, which I bought a load of and haven't known how to use ....
I love the design & layout if the book and excellently clear instructions ...
I'm looking forward to using it very soon...
