Jumbo Oats are a kitchen staple and make for a versatile ingredient. They have a coarse texture, making them an ideal components in crumble topping, muesli and flapjack.
Grown and milled in Scotland, these flakes are ideal to make a thick, wholesome and hearty porridge, or combined in a muesli mix
Our jumbo oats are grown on farms that also grow and harvest wheat, barley and other cereals. As such we can't be sure there won't occasionally be wheat or other cereals present. If you're looking for gluten free oats we do, when available, have oat flakes grown and processed on a farm that doesn't grow or handle other cereals.
To make porridge: Place a cupful of oats in a saucepan and add a cupful of milk and 2 cupful s of boiling water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes, adding water if it dries out. Sweeten to taste and serve.
To make flapjacks: Melt a large knob of butter in a saucepan, together with 2 tablespoons of molasses and a tablespoon of coconut sugar (or brown sugar). Add a cupful of these jumbo oats and stir. Flatten into a lined baking tray and put into a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 20 minutes

Great quality, no dust and keeps well.
Best oats ever. Makes porridge that makes you feel you're loving yourself and excellent for a crumble both sides fruit slice which holds together to pick up and chomp.
Super quality oats in a paper bag and very good value. Organic feels like the standard at Hodmedods so these oats are no exception. Better flavour and texture than porridge oats in my opinion.

We love these Brazil nuts, not just their provenance which deserves a fabulous all by itself, but they are delicious!! Tasty and moist. Keep well in the freezer and we take out smallish amounts out and have a few every day. Eagerly awaiting next arrivals.
I haven't used these in any recipe yet, just pre-soaked and cooked with a teaspooon of miso. They are really delicious with a lovely soft texture, the skins don't interfere with the enjoyment. I think they would be good in so many recipes but if I don't stop picking at them I won't get to know this time round. It's brilliant to be able to try beans from other cultures and while these are more expensive than some, quite honestly by the time you've soaked and cooked beans you get so many from a packet they are always a bargain.
This blend is a winner! So nutritious and delicious! Easy to cook too. Beautiful !
By chance while travelling, we've ended up in the little restaurant of Aitana and Sarah at Felin Uchaf in Wales and fell in love with the place, their food and cook book! I've ordered it here already a few times to give it to friends...
Very yummy
