Have you driven or cycled past our front door and wondered what goes on behind it? Last June we opened our big Bean Store doors for a chance to shop with us in person and have a look behind the scenes. It was such a success we're now opening monthly through the spring and summer.
Meeting our customers is always a joy, but our pulses, grains and seeds are awkward (and heavy) to take to events and markets. So we thought we’d invite our more local customers to come to us instead.
What goes on in our big shed – and why we do it – is everyday for us, but we know how fascinating it is to see behind the scenes of other businesses.
Everything we sell online is available - pulses, grains, seeds, roasted snack pulses and flour stone-milled by our team here in Brampton. As well as books, gluten-free ingredients, and foods from our guest suppliers including Cornish Seaweed, Hempen Co-operative and Halen Môn.
Henrietta Inman, who bakes across the yard at the Hodemdod Bakehouse, joins us to offer tea and coffee and a selection of seasonal goodies crafted from Hodmedod’s ingredients and local produce, such as wholemeal loaves, St Helena and Baron Bigod cheese quiches made with YQ pastry, courgette, herb and marrowfat pea rough puff rolls, buckwheat, gooseberry and Brazil nut frangipane tarts, and lots more.
From our friends just up the road at Clinks Farm we have a range of produce and bunches of cut flowers for sale.

On the Essex coastline, where arable fields meet salt marsh and sea air, Frinton Farms is quietly doing something remarkable. What began as a traditional arable operation has, over the past decade, evolved into one of the UK’s only producers of pumpkin seed oil and snacking seeds – supplying Hodmedod with nutrient-rich pumpkin seed oil, golden linseed and roasted seeds.
Hodmedod's pop-up Shop! will be open again on Saturday 7th February alongside Barleybird's annual Seed Swap.
