Wholegrain wheat from the revolutionary YQ population, grown at Hope Farm in Cambridgeshire, a farm that gives nature space to thrive. Our Hope Farm YQ Wheat Grain is RSPB Fair to Nature Certified - find out more at fairtonature.org

This grain is revolutionary! It's from a crop of the YQ (Yield and Quality) wheat population bred at Wakelyns Agroforestry by Professor Martin Wolfe and the Organic Research Centre. The population is a crop of extraordinary diversity, that's emerged over time from a wide range of carefully chosen parent varieties, leading to fields of millions of genetically distinct individual wheat plants rather than the usual genetically uniform monocultures.

Too many farmland species are under threat from intensive farming, yet farming needs healthy wildlife to secure food production for the future. The RSPB’s Fair to Nature scheme is helping to make space on farms for birds, bees, butterflies, wildflowers, and more.

YQ wheat grains can be cooked and eaten whole, or milled at home (we recommend using a Mockmill) for flavoursome and nutritious flour.
